Top Arab Women Entrepreneurs

Arab women are tapping the startups across the Arab world, some of them succeeded to establish their own startups while others participate with co-founders to start the business, Forbes Middle East reveals the top Arab women entrepreneurs making waves in the startups, extracted from our list “Top 100 Startups in The Arab World 2017”.


All women in the list are from Arab origin and based in the Middle East, we comprise those startups that have championed the most innovative ideas and received the most external funding in the last year.


The top Arab women entrepreneurs succeeded in gathering funding worth more than $72.8 million in 2017, Palestinian women dominate the list with 30.8%, then comes the Jordanian and Egyptian women with 23.1% for each one, followed by Lebanese women with 15.4%.


Joy Ajlouny Co-Founder of Fetcher, tops the list with most external funding worth $52 million for her project that is based on the GPS shipping, then Mona Ataya, and Leena Khalil who are co-Founders of Mumzworld, followed by Mona Hadad founder of AppMahal that received $ 4.3 million for her Social media application developer.


Most of the startups are in the services sectors including shipping, shopping, social media development, Moving and home services, and personal help.
